Choose conditions before copying a route
A useful class comparison begins with the starting spell and the condition that keeps its damage or defense working. Proximity, ground placement, ongoing damage, summons and healing triggers can change the same encounter in different ways. This directory describes those choices without assigning an unsupported damage tier. A preset is editable, and its point sequence should be reviewed at the stage you can actually reach.
Warrior · Cleave
The documented default opener is Cleave. A Fury idea emphasizes Whirlwind; Arms and Protection change the problem rather than simply adding more of the same damage.
Start by deciding whether you want repeated nearby hits, a bleed-linked route or a shield-oriented route. Whirlwind rewards being close enough to hit, so a plan also needs an answer to enemies that make that position unsafe.
Arms · Fury · Protection · Warrior build: close-range pressure with a way out
Paladin · Consecration
The documented default opening includes Consecration, a ground effect placed where you stand. Protection, Holy and Retribution can add different initial skills and triggers; those grants do not remove Consecration.
A ground-based plan asks where enemies will stand after you move. Do not treat a defensive label as permission to remain inside every warning. Keep your route’s damage area and your safe movement path connected.
Holy · Protection · Retribution · Paladin build: make ground effects and defenses work together
Hunter · Auto Shot
The documented default opener is Auto Shot. Marksmanship develops shot interactions; Beast Mastery adds companions; Survival gives traps a more central role.
Decide what you need the build to do when a dangerous enemy reaches you. Range gives room to move, but a distant-target plan still needs a route through the crowd and a way to keep attacks reaching the intended target.
Beast Mastery · Marksmanship · Survival · Hunter build: keep ranged targeting and crowd control aligned
Rogue · Sinister Strike
The documented opener is Sinister Strike. Combat expands direct strikes; Assassination builds poison and bleed interactions; Subtlety adds a different opening and survival tools.
For a direct-strike draft, keep Sinister Strike and its supporting triggers together. For a poison draft, give damage-over-time effects time to work. A plan that mixes both without prerequisites can spend points without completing either loop.
Assassination · Combat · Subtlety · Rogue build: choose between spreading strikes and sustained effects
Priest · Smite
The documented default opener is Smite. Discipline, Holy and Shadow are mechanically different routes in this game, not a fixed assignment to a multiplayer healing role.
A Discipline draft must still explain how it kills enemies while using shields. A Holy draft keeps Smite and its relevant triggers together. A Shadow draft needs time and target coverage for damage-over-time effects.
Discipline · Holy · Shadow · Priest build: give shields, direct casts or spreading damage a clear job
Shaman · Lightning Bolt
The documented opener is Lightning Bolt. Elemental develops lightning chains, Enhancement adds repeated-hit and companion interactions, and the documented Restoration route can center on totems.
Choose whether you want damage to follow targets or remain around a placed object. Chain Lightning and Magma Totem solve different positioning problems; selecting both does not remove their conditions.
Elemental · Enhancement · Restoration · Shaman build: distinguish chain effects from placed totems
Mage · Fireball
The documented default opener is Fireball. Fire, Frost and Arcane provide different trigger chains, opening spells and ways to affect nearby enemies.
A Fire idea connects fire critical interactions to the spells that can use them. A Frost idea trades some choices toward slows, roots and related attacks. Arcane has its own missile and extra-cast conditions.
Arcane · Fire · Frost · Mage build: pick a damage school and a control plan
Warlock · Shadow Bolt
The documented default opener is Shadow Bolt. Affliction spreads ongoing effects, Demonology supplies distinct summons, and Destruction connects particular fire and bolt interactions.
Pick the mechanism you want to complete first. A DoT idea needs enemies to remain alive long enough for ticks and transfer triggers. A summon idea must identify which summon is enabled and what supports it.
Affliction · Demonology · Destruction · Warlock build: separate damage over time, summons and fire triggers
Druid · Wrath
The documented default opener is Wrath. Balance develops ranged spell triggers, Feral Combat changes the close-range plan, and Restoration connects healing with other effects.
Decide whether your route is staying at range, using a feral opening or deliberately supporting healing triggers. The familiar WoW class name does not make every form and skill available at once.
Balance · Feral Combat · Restoration · Druid build: commit to the form or casting route you can support

The current reference uses original client 0.131.0, build e7d9dd47. Static definitions and selected menu comparisons establish the named fields.
